Sandra Meyer’s talent was realized at a very early age. Her story begins when she won a regional art contest at the age of 4. Through a series of other contests, that piece went on to win first place in the state of California. Sandra continued with her art through grade school then stopped to pursue her talents in music. After receiving her college degree in music performance she went on playing the oboe in orchestras and studio sessions in Los Angeles. Sandra found the formal training in music too limiting and decided to get a “real job” in the corporate world. Her love of art re-emerged 20 years after laying down her brushes and rekindled as a hobby which quickly developed into an illustration business on the side. Sandra attributes her unique style to the fact that she is untrained. “My formal music training was so limited and kept me in a box - I really wanted to protect my uniqueness by not introducing a lot of technique. I learned how to paint from observing life. I have a love of life and nature that offers endless inspiration”. Sandra promotes her artwork nationally with her husband Mark. She holds numerous awards for her work at art shows, festivals, and galleries. She continues to be published nationally. Her work is sought out by top art collectors. Sandra Meyer Studio Gallery is now located in Atlanta, Georgia near Grant Park. To find out more about Sandra Meyer and the gallery contact us. |
